Where Are They Now?

Dermot Dann holds a PHD in Footy Finals.

He played more than 200 games for Old Xav Seniors including the string of premierships in the late nineties under the coaching skills of Tim O'Shaughnessy and Barry Richardson.

Dermot transferred to Old Xavs after a season, or two with Melbourne AFL Reserves, and as they say the rest is history. He won the Old Xavs Best and Fairest in 1994.

Despite being retired for a while he pulled on the boots last year to play in the annual Solicitors versus Lawyers grudge match. He recorded a swag of possessions and was first to high five when another ex-Xav player Marcus Allan booted the winning goal.

Apart from his footy talents Dermot is a regular and very talented emcee at club dinners. With the current dearth of live TV there's a ready vacancy on the box for DD when he hangs up his wig and gown. Just get Mike McColl-Jones to write a few gags and Dermot can be on his way to a side splitting Tonight show. Let us stand united and please no more further bombs like Being Lara Bingle, Ben Elton, Warnie and the list goes on.

Dermot is a regular at home and away games and his support group includes his kids and his Dad.
