Momentum building

Seniors 3 wins in a row

Women, Seconds and Unders

Finals start to loom

Round 14 upon us, still cold and another weekend of massive games loom for all of our teams.  Solid wins last Saturday have really set up a gripping back end to the season for our seniors, seconds, women's and unders teams.  Have a look at the ladders below and you will see what I mean!

Seniors started well and dominated Parkdale, winning by 70 points, bagging another 4 points and an important % boost.  The 2nds got over the line by one point, a controversial last minute score to win a nail bitter.  3rds found the away game to Parkdale just beyond them, the team that best manage the wind would win and that was Parkdale.  Women powered away from Oakleigh early to set up the win and a crack this week at UHS-VU in a finals decider, winner in loser season over.  Unders found St Bedes this time a bit too good, they need to hang in their as they will welcome back the school boys in 2 weeks.

Beyond the game the highlight for the day was the return of our victorious 1997 2nds premiers, we had 20 of them to lunch, followed by a scoreboard session with Handsy then back to The Harp for some more hydration.  It was great to have them reunite, haven't aged a bit!

So to this week, massive games where results could fall either way.  Seniors and 2nds out to St Bernard's infamous Snake Pit.  Bernie's seniors got owned by Scotch last week so they will be smarting, the 2nds game will be a cracker of a game, we won 1st time so it will be game on again.  3rds host Trinity at Bulleen in a likely game, Women as mentioned above play UHS in a finals decider, regardless of the result the ladies have been amazing.  Unders in a tough home encounter against a very good Collegians.

With the cold winds of winter still upon us the players really need your support so please make every effort to get along to our matches.  It's getting interesting!!!

Karsten next call up to Senior Football

Player number 43 for 2017 and a debutante, Karsten Rodenberg gets his chance. Karsten is another of the 2015 U19 premiership team to have a crack at senior football.  Karsten is a lively forward with good pace, skills and a competitive nature.  Karsten played seconds footy early in 2016 before breaking his arm.  He came back in the 2017 pre season and has played consistent football in the 2nds and thoroughly deserves his call up, having returned from the mandatory mid season Europe freshen up!.

Take a close look at these ladders.  4 of our teams are well in the mix.

Whilst finals is a real potability so too is failure and even still relegation, hope to present better ladders in a week's time!!
