More good signs with for our all of our team

Women Round 3 winners

Apologies for the shortage of Schiller reports so far in 2018, we have working on getting our other social media platforms updated including the phone app called Team App.  You should download the app and search for Old Carey Football Club, plenty of regular updates there plus easy access to our Instagram and Twitter feeds.

The Seniors have started brilliantly with 2 solid wins, comfortable accounting for Caufield R1 and then St Bernards last week.  The 2nds are 1 and 1, so too the Unders.  3rds had a great win last week away to Saint Mary's Salesian whilst the Women are finding the going tough.

Will send out regular Schiller's from now so keep a look out for the following info:

  • Past players membership drive
  • 1998 reunion lunch, May 12, seniors home to Old Haileybury
  • Legends game at Carey Bulleen, June 30
  • New sponsor updates, inc Courtney and Patterson and AUW Building Supplies
  • Film night May 7
  • Gala Ball June 23
  • R4 home lunch with AFLW stars Harriett Cordner and Bonnie Toogood

Hope to see you at the games tomorrow, stay tuned.

This week's games

Seniors and 2nds go out Monash to take winless Monash Blues.  Monash played final in 2017 and had some very athletic players, despite the 2 losses I'm sure they will fancy themselves at home, last time we played then they smashed our seniors.  To add some interest former Carey Principle, Phil De Young is their president.

Women head to Mentone playing fields and will be looking for an improved showing, been a tough opening 2 rounds.  Having lost a large chunk of the 2017 GF team, its back to development phase for the team in 2018, have to admire their passion and commitment.

3rds host St Bernads on Gramlick whilst the Unders will be looking to redeem themselves from last week's unexpected loss to Blacks when they take on Fitzroy at 9.40am  tomorrow at Ramsden Street.

100 game milestone for the PIG

Club favorite Blake Fordham notched up his 100th game last weekend having been overseas the previous 3 years.  Blake joined OC from school in  2008 via our U19 program.  Having done his knee it was time to head overseas to London and see the world.  Back late last year, Blake headed straight back the club only to quickly realize there weren't too many familiar faces, the list has changed considerably in the 3 years.  All the same Blake has slotted back in and reached the 100 game milestone R2.  Congrats form the OC community.

Time to get a seat at our R4 lunch

This one will be a cracker as Cookie has landed 2 AFLW stars as his Q&A guests.  And with the ladies having a BYE April 28 its ideal to have them attend together with  at family., partners and friends to enjoy some time together the club ahead of big R4 games for the men's teams.
